I graduated with a CS degree from Western Michigan University. From there I started to hone my PHP/MySQL skills at a small startup building custom Content Management Systems for e-commerce sites.
Deciding I wanted something a little more challenging I left my job to be the Web Project Manager and Lead Developer at a B2B publishing company working mostly in Java using JBoss, Hibernate, and Oracle. Blasphemy, I know.
After a few years I decided corporate life wasn't for me and either sold, gave away, or threw away most of my worldly possessions. I packed what little was left into my car and drove across the country to be an engineer at Digg.com.
